About the Book

Loyalty is built over time; therefore, it can be difficult to undo. That is why it is important to find ways to renegotiate loyalties as circumstances change. Sometimes, holding on to the familiar can create stagnation, rigidity, and a sense of shortlived security and stability.

A short-lived sense of security and safety can affect the leadership of an organization. That is why it is important to be flexible and fluid in your leadership style, thereby empowering your team to be flexible and fluid at the same time. When both the leadership and team members are in sync, it is easier to collaborate in completing the company’s job tasks.

At its heart, leadership requires a compassionate leader. Caring for your employees through action is critical. Employees can only translate how much a leader cares through how the leader treats them on a daily basis. Essentially, an effective leader has to be willing to be a great follower. By doing so, team members work in harmony with their leaders. By working together, they create a sense of meaning together through collaboration.

The one thing I hope you will gain from this book is that leadership is action-driven. Leadership is a practice and not just a theory. Second, leaders should conduct blind surveys with their employees to find out whether they trust the organization’s leadership. Third, talk to your employees regularly. People are social beings. They are always willing to talk. So learn to talk to your team members regularly about their well-being. Fourth, develop listening skills. While talking to your team members, also learn how to listen intently because listening is an art and energy-intensive. Exercise the art of listening to improve it. Fifth, be open to learning from your colleagues. While talking and listening to your colleagues, be willing to learn from them.
